Join the Canberra Fungi Group on any of our forays (field trips) in and around Canberra.

Anyone with an interest is welcome to become a member, from beginners and novices to expert mycologists.

Events/activities will be posted here during the fungi season (autumn).

The Canberra Fungi Group is a volunteer citizen science group that seeks to locate, identify, and record occurrences of fungi around Canberra. This is because there is still relatively little known about fungi in Australia, including their distribution, substrata and habitats.

We do not teach people about whether any fungi are edible.

Only people in our group with a licence under the Nature Conservation Act 2014 are permitted to take samples of the fungi we find,

usually for the purpose of scientific study such as to created a collection for the National Herbarium.
